Building on a New Platform (of Art)
I have been working with a construction worker and real estate agent to compose images of houses before they are built to be places on the market on websites. I am loving working in this form thus far.
I remember one of my professors talking about how much she used to love folding paper as a child and how it has come full circle for her as she is making her own paper for her art currently. When the idea came her way, she felt reminiscent of that childhood happiness. I feel this way about drawing houses. As a child, my favorite activity was drawing and creating new houses. I never knew what was to come of it, I just really enjoyed drawing them.
Now that I have started drawing houses again, I feel like I have connected with my inner child. I am enjoying this work and excited to see where it goes. It is interesting looking back at how my technique has changed over the years. I used to rely on drawing, but with my training in drawing, painting, and graphic design, I was allowed to come up with multiple renditions of houses. I am grateful for this knowledge of different platforms of art.
